According to comments made by a company spokesperson to various news outlets, Umpqua Bank reported a data breach after they were affected by a recent cyber security attack at Progress Software. The representative stated that the company was one of many government agencies, large corporations and other enterprises affected by the MOVEit file transfer vulnerability. It is to be noted that the vulnerability did not affect the networks of the companies but rather the data that was inputted into the program. The investigation is still ongoing, so Umpqua Bank has not yet sent out data breach letters to those individuals whose information was affected by the breach.
