July 4 – The Union Bank and Trust Company data breach lawyers at Console & Associates, P.C are investigating the data breach that was reported after the company was affected by a recent third party cyber security attack at Progress Software. The Union Bank and Trust Company data breach resulted in the confidential information of certain individuals being compromised. At this time, it is unclear how many individuals were affected.
According to the Attorney General of California, Union Bank and Trust Company reported a data breach after they were affected by a recent third party cyber security attack at Progress Software. On May 31, 2023, UBT was notified by Progress Software of a zero-day vulnerability within their MOVEit file transfer software. The company launched an investigation and determined that the vulnerability identified in MOVEit resulted in certain customer information that was stored within Union Bank and Trust Company’s MOVEit application was subject to unauthorized access on May 29, 2023. On June 30, 2023, Union Bank and Trust Company sent out data breach letters to those individuals whose information was affected by the breach.
