December 12 – The data breach lawyers at Console & Associates, P.C are investigating the United Home Loans, Inc. (“UHL”) data breach that was reported after the company was targeted in a recent cyber security attack. The United Home Loans data breach resulted in the below information of certain individuals being compromised:

  • names
  • Social Security numbers
  • driver’s license numbers
  • government-issued identification numbers
  • financial account numbers
  • digital signatures
  • passport numbers
  • dates of birth
  • birth or marriage certificates

What Happened?

According to the Attorney General of Vermont, United Home Loans reported a data breach after they were targeted in a recent cyber security attack. On or around March 15, 2023, the company detected suspicious activity within its computer network prompting them to secure its systems and launch an investigation. The United Home Loans investigation confirmed that an unauthorized party was able to access portions of UHL’s network and files that contained confidential consumer information. The unauthorized access was limited to March 15, 2023. On  December 6, 2023, United Home Loans sent out data breach letters to those individuals whose information was affected by the breach.
