Data Breach AlertSeptember 6 – The UnitedHealthcare data breach lawyers at Console & Associates, P.C are investigating the data breach that was reported after the company was targeted in a recent cyber security attack. The UnitedHealthcare data breach resulted in the names, member ID numbers, plan types, and counties and states of residency of certain individuals being compromised.

What Happened As A Result Of The UnitedHealthcare Data Breach?

According to various news outlets, UnitedHealthcare reported a data breach after they were targeted in a recent cyber security attack. On December 29, 2022, UHC discovered that an unauthorized party was able to access a UHC broker portal. This provided the unauthorized party with access to certain parts of UHC’s business. The company notified law enforcement and coordinated an investigation. The UHC investigation confirmed that an unauthorized party accessed information from the UHC broker portal while attempting to divert funds intended for agents and/or brokers. UHC was able to determine that the unauthorized party gained access to personal information of UHC members between the dates of December 1, 2022, and January 25, 2023. UnitedHealthcare will send out data breach letters to those individuals whose information was affected by the breach.
