July 27 – The Wake Family Eye Care data breach lawyers at Console & Associates, P.C are investigating the data breach that was reported after the company was targeted in a recent cyber security attack. The Wake Family Eye Care data breach resulted in the names, addresses, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, driver’s license numbers, passport numbers, other government-issued ID numbers, insurance numbers, optical images, chart numbers, and related eye records of certain individuals being compromised. It is believed to have impacted as many as 14,264 individuals.
According to a notice posted on their website, Wake Family Eye Care reported a data breach after they were targeted in a recent ransomware attack. On June 2, 2023, Wake Family Eye Care learned that it was the target of a ransomware attack after some of the company’s computer systems were encrypted. The company stopped the attack, secured their systems and launched an investigation. The Wake Family Eye Care investigation confirmed that an unauthorized party was able to access certain files on its system that contained confidential patient information. On July 14, 2023, Wake Family Eye Care sent out data breach letters to those individuals whose information was affected by the breach.
