August 16 – The El Centro Del Barrio d/b/a CentroMed (“CentroMed”) data breach lawyers at Console & Associates, P.C are investigating the data breach that was reported after the company was targeted in a recent cyber security attack. The CentroMed data breach resulted in the names, addresses, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, financial account information, medical records numbers, health insurance plan member IDs, and claims data of certain individuals being compromised.
According to the Attorney General of Texas and a notice posted on the company’s website, CentroMed reported a data breach after they were targeted in a recent cyber security attack. On June 12, 2023, CentroMed was alerted to a potential cybersecurity incident involving unauthorized access to the company’s computer network. The company launched an investigation confirming that an unauthorized party was able to access portions of its IT network on June 9, 2023. It was later determined that some of the files that were accessible to the unauthorized party contained confidential information belonging to current and former employees and patients. On August 14, 2023, CentroMed sent out data breach letters to those individuals whose information was affected by the breach.
