According to the Attorney General of Maine, the Financial Business and Consumer Solutions data breach was reported after they were targeted in a recent cyber security attack. On February 26, 2024, the company detected unauthorized activity within its computer network prompting FBCS to secure its systems and launch an investigation. It was confirmed that the FBCS network was subject to unauthorized access between February 14, 2024 and February 26, 2024, during which the unauthorized party was able to view and/or access confidential consumer information. On April 26, 2024, Financial Business and Consumer Solutions sent out data breach letters to those individuals whose information was affected by the breach.
