According to the Attorney General of Montana, the Molen & Associates data breach was reported after they were targeted in a recent cyber security attack. On October 24, 2023, the company detected a network security incident involving an unauthorized party gaining access to parts of the company’s IT network. Molen & Associates launched an investigation that confirmed that the party was able to access portions of its network between October 4, 2023 and October 25, 2023, including files containing confidential consumer information. On April 5, 2024, Molen & Associates sent out data breach letters to those individuals whose information was affected by the breach.
