ECSI took its systems offline, removed the ability for guests to search for their tax forms and launched an investigation. It was determined that an unauthorized party was able to access data belonging to certain students between October 29, 2023 and February 12, 2024. On April 19, 2024, Educational Computer Systems, Inc. sent out data breach letters to those individuals whose information was affected by the breach.
