The Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance data breach resulted in the below information of certain individuals being compromised:
According to the Attorney General of Montana, the Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance data breach was reported after they were affected by a recent cyber security attack at Infosys McCamish. Newport Group provides administrative support to non-qualified deferred compensation plans issued through Northwestern Mutual. Infosys McCamish is a vendor that Newport Group uses to process transactions. On November 2, 2023, Infosys McCamish learned that it was the target of a ransomware attack. The company informed Newport Group of the incident, and in response, Newport Group disconnected all Infosys McCamish systems. An investigation was launched that confirmed that an unauthorized party was able to access certain information belonging to Northwestern Mutual customers that was stored on Infosys McCamish systems. On February 16, 2024, Newport Group sent out data breach letters to those individuals whose information was affected by the breach.
