April 13 – The data breach lawyers at Console & Associates, P.C. are investigating the Payroll Select Services (PSS) data breach that was reported after the company was targeted in a recent cyber security attack. The Payroll Select Services data breach resulted in the below information of certain individuals being compromised:

  • Names
  • Social Security numbers
  • Addresses
  • Dates of birth
  • Financial information

What Happened?

According to the Attorney General of Montana, the Payroll Select Services data breach was reported after they were targeted in a recent cybersecurity incident. PSS learned that its network had been compromised on September 7, 2023, which sparked an internal investigation.

The Payroll Select Services data breach investigation continued until March 2024. By December 28, 2023, they had confirmed an unauthorized actor had stolen sensitive data including names and Social Security numbers. Other compromised information includes addresses, dates of birth, and financial information.

On March 28, 2024, Payroll Select Services sent out data breach letters to those individuals whose information was affected by the breach.
