According to the Attorney General of South Carolina, the WebTPA Employer Services data breach was reported after they were targeted in a recent cyber security attack. WebTPA is a service provider that provides administrative services to Transamerica. On December 28, 2023, WebTPA detected unusual activity within its computer network prompting the company to secure its systems and launch an investigation. It was confirmed that an unauthorized party was able to access its network between April 18, 2023 and April 23, 2023 which included files containing confidential information belonging to Transamerica customers. On April 11, 2024, WebTPA Employer Services sent out data breach letters to those individuals whose information was affected by the breach.
WebTPA Employer Services, LLC is a third-party administrator based out of Irving, Texas that creates custom health plans for 
employers that are designed to lower health plan costs while providing competitive benefits.
