What Happened?

According to the Attorney General of Montana, the AllCare Pharmacy data breach was reported after the company suffered a ransomware attack on September 21, 2024. AllCare disrupted the ransomware attack, but not before unauthorized parties accessed some customer data. Following the breach, AllCare collaborated with third-party cybersecurity experts to discover the scope of the breach. The investigation confirmed that confidential patient information was compromised. While the information varies from person to person, it includes names, addresses, birth dates, prescriptions, Social Security numbers, and credit card details. AllCare Pharmacy completed the review by April 3, 2024. The company sent out data breach letters to victims of the breach on April 12, 2024.
