With the assistance of cybersecurity experts, it determined that an unauthorized party accessed parts of the network, compromising sensitive data. This compromise went beyond parishioners and included participant details from Diocese-sponsored benefits programs. After a thorough review, the Diocese confirmed that personal details such as names, addresses, birth dates, and Social Security numbers were involved. On April 15, 2024, the Diocese of Phoenix sent out data breach letters to those individuals whose information was affected by the breach.
