Data Breach AlertAugust 20, 2022 – Blume Global, Inc. reported a data breach after the company was targeted in a recent cybersecurity attack. As a result of the breach, the name and other sensitive information of certain individuals was compromised. Blume Global sent out data breach letters to those individuals whose information was affected by the breach.

Below is a portion of the letter that Blume Global sent to individuals affected by the data breach:

Blume Global, Inc. (“Blume”) is writing to advise you of a recent event that may impact the security of certain personal information related to you. We write to provide you information about the event, what we have done since discovering the event, and steps you can take to further safeguard your information, should you feel it appropriate to do so.

What Happened? Blume recently became aware of unusual activity on its network and promptly began an internal investigation. Shortly thereafter, Blume discovered certain files and systems had been impacted by malware. Third-party forensic specialists were engaged to assist in the investigation to determine the nature and scope of the event, and identify what personal information may have been impacted by this event.

The forensic investigation revealed that a limited amount of data was taken from the Blume environment. Blume, with the assistance of data review specialists, conducted a thorough and time-consuming review of the information to identify the individuals whose personal information was subject to unauthorized access. Once this process was complete, Blume took steps to notify those whose personal information was impacted by this event. Shortly after discovery of the event, Blume notified law enforcement.

What Information Was Involved? The following information about you was acquired by an unauthorized individual(s): your name, [Redacted].

What We Are Doing. Blume is committed to, and takes very seriously its responsibility to safeguard all data entrusted to it. As part of Blume’s ongoing commitment to the security of personal information in its care, Blume has reviewed its existing technical and administrative controls and is working to implement additional procedural safeguards to maintain the security of data in its systems. Blume also notified applicable regulatory authorities.

As an added precaution, we are also offering you access to twenty-four (24) months of complimentary credit monitoring, fraud consultation, and identity theft restoration services through Equifax. Individuals who wish to receive these services must enroll by following the attached enrollment instructions.

What You Can Do. We encourage you to remain vigilant against incidents of identity theft and fraud by reviewing your financial account statements and credit reports for any anomalies. We also encourage you to review the enclosed Steps You Can Take to Protect Your Information for additional guidance. You can also enroll to receive the complimentary services being offered to you.
