May 9, 2022 – Recently, Great Plains Beef, LLC and Lone Creek Cattle Company reported a data breach after an unauthorized party was able to gain access to sensitive consumer information stored on the companies’ computer servers. On May 4, 2022, Great Plains Beef, LLC and Lone Creek Cattle Company sent out data breach letters to those whose information was affected by the breach.

While Great Plains Beef and Lone Creek Cattle Company are separate legal entities, they are affiliated. Additionally, the information in the data breach letters issued by the companies is almost identical, meaning this was likely one cyberattack that targeted both companies.
Great Plains Beef, LLC and Lone Creek Cattle Company are two livestock companies focused on raising Piedmontese cattle. Piedmontese cattle are native to the Piedmont region of Italy and are known for producing beef with high muscle content and a low fat content due to the fact that the breed has an inactive myostatin gene. Lone Creek Cattle Company and Great Plains Beef, LLC each employ fewer than 25 people and generate less than $5 million in annual revenue.
