What Happened?

According to the Attorney General of California, the U.S. Renal Care data breach was reported after they were targeted in a recent cyber security attack at HealthEC. HealthEC is a health technology company that provides certain services toU.S. Renal Care. The company detected suspicious activity within its computer network prompting HealthEC to launch an investigation. It was confirmed that the company had been the target of a cyberattack between July 14, 20232 and July 23, 2023. During this period, an unauthorized party was able to access certain files stored on HealthEC’s computer network, including those containing confidential information belonging to U.S. Renal Care patients. On December 22, 2023, U.S. Renal Care sent out data breach letters to those individuals whose information was affected by the breach.
