According to the filing, an unauthorized party gained access to sensitive consumer information like consumer names, addresses, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, driver’s license numbers, passport numbers, financial account information, and government ID numbers. What We Know About the W.W. Wallwork, Inc. Data Breach

According to its filing with the Montana Office of Consumer Protection, a division of the Montana Attorney General’s Office, Wallwork determined that it had experienced a cybersecurity incident on June 16, 2022. The company does not reveal further details on the incident. Wallwork then notified the Federal Bureau of Investigation. It hired a third-party cybersecurity company to investigate the attack and began securing its systems.

After learning that the consumer data was exposed to a third party, Wallwork’s next step was to review the files and determine what information was made available. The types of information exposed were consumer names, addresses, dates of birth Social Security numbers, driver’s license numbers, passport numbers, financial account information, and government ID numbers. While not consistent with each individual, any or all of the information listed may have been leaked due to the attack.

On December 20, 2022, Wallwork sent out letters to all individuals whose sensitive information had been compromised.

Per the Montana Attorney General, the data breach affected 117 victims in Montana alone, though the total number is unknown.
